Podcasts are truly one of the greatest innovations in how we can consume information. There is no end to the topics that you can find great shows on, be it sports, self help, business and of course Disney. Which is probably why it’s no shock that you are reading this right now, you want to know what are the best Disney podcasts that are worth your time. Given there is no shortage of general Disney podcasts or Disney World podcasts out there, it can be hard to know which ones provide lively discussions on the latest happenings in the parks, great trip planning advice and of course the latest news and rumors surrounding the Walt Disney World Parks.
For those that perhaps don’t listen to Disney World podcasts much (or at all) it’s really a habit that is quite rewarding and fun. Podcasts are great because you can listen to them at your leisure, so whether you are cleaning, stuck in traffic, working out or just winding down for the night, listening to a podcast on a topic you enjoy is fun and informative. If you of course love Walt Disney World the good news is we have been listening to many of the best Disney World podcasts for years (so much so that we started our own but more on that later) and we are here to recommend some of the best Disney podcasts you should be listening to.
What We Look For In The Best Disney Podcasts
Before I get into my recommendations for the best Disney podcasts, first I want to go over what it is I and most Disney fans look for in a Disney related podcast.
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://capturethemagicapparel.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/IMG_0278-scaled.jpg” title_text=”IMG_0278″ _builder_version=”4.9.10″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”1px|||||”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.9.10″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat”]
Love/Passion
It’s probably important that first, we discuss one of the main elements you should look for in a great Disney podcast. For me, first and foremost the people on the podcast need to have a love and passion for Disney. This may sound obvious but you would be surprised at the amount of Disney podcasts out there that seem to either lost their love or passion for Disney or they just don’t look at Disney with the same reverence as most of us Disney fans do. It’s important to note that this doesn’t mean that the podcast needs to be a “fanboy” and never say a negative thing about Disney but that they are coming from a place of love and passion for the topic.
Informative
Any Disney podcasts out there worth their salt is going to have solid Disney news and information. I, like many others, enjoy hearing the latest news, rumors, discussions, and debates about polarizing Disney topics, such as Fastpass+, favorite rides, attractions, restaurants and more. A podcast that stays on top of the latest happenings in the parks is also a good indication that the hosts have a passion for Disney as staying on top of all the news and rumors is truly a labor of love that can almost be a fulltime job (especially lately).
Fun
As a fan of any topic this is a simple equation, Walt Disney World (really theme parks in general) is supposed to be fun, so of course I want my Disney podcast to be fun! This one may shock you but so many Disney related shows I’ve listened to just seem like they aren’t having fun. No matter the topic of a podcast, I assume the people on the podcast should be excited when talking about the subject matter related to the podcast, the same goes for Disney podcasts.
Trip Planning Tips
While the latest news and rumors surrounding Walt Disney World are always fun, I find the thing that is the most beneficial for the most part are Disney trip planning tips. Things that you would have perhaps never thought of before that can help make your next trip that much better and enjoyable.
The 4 Best Disney Podcasts
Below you will find our top 5 picks for the best Disney World podcasts in 2021.

1) Capture The Magic Podcast
As you might have guessed by the name of this podcast, this is our very own Disney podcast. The show is hosted by myself (Jamie) and my husband Jared. We post 1-2 episodes per week and cover things like the latest Disney news & rumors, best/worst lists, travel tips, resort reviews, restaurant reviews, listener questions, and much more.
While we are not to the level of Len Testa, Jim Hill or Lou Mongello (not yet at least lol) we created the show in the hopes of being what a Disney podcast should be. We know we are talking about a theme park and we like to keep things loose and fun, but also provide great information, tips and more for all our listeners planning a Walt Disney World Vacation. We would love for you to check it out, subscribe and leave us a review on iTunes (or whatever platform you listen on). We love getting feedback from listeners and answering any questions you may have as well.
For those that would like even more Disney content we have even more content in Club 32. Basically if Club 33 is out of reach for you (that’s most of us) then Club 32 is the next best place to be. We have extra shows like:
- Distory: Where we discuss different aspects of Disney history like rides, resorts and more
- Cool Kids Kitchen: Jared and I do a livestream once a month where we make Disney based recipes but it’s mostly just an excuse to have a great time with everyone in the livestream
- Club 32 Speakeasy: Go live with Jared as he hangs out on the back porch with a drink and a cigar and hangs out with Club members for a fun and loose livestream
- Rant Corner: Jared is known for his strong opinions and rants so we gave him his own corner of the Club to get some things off his chest
- Marvel Chats: Given Jared grew up reading comics when there is a Marvel show on Disney+ or a new Marvel movie we have Marvel chats to discuss what’s happening on the shows & what it means for the MCU
- Private Podcast Feed: We have a private podcast feed for members were we post Club 32 content, Disney music loops (a fan favorite) and more
- There is also many more Club 32 perks, for more info just CLICK HERE

2) Dis Unplugged
This roundtable discussion podcast covers all things about Disney World with episodes once a week. Since they have been recording for 10 years running, their experience in the parks is very deep and I really enjoy listening to their conversations. The company that produces the podcast, The Dis, has been a staple in the Disney online community for 20 years covering Disney news, and their online reach is immersive. They are also one of the longest running Disney podcasts out there.
Having mentioned all of that, the original podcast is still the best in my opinion. There is a common core of people that have been with the show since it started in 2007, and it’s nice to listen to their opinions and how their feelings have evolved over the years. The true force of the show is the host Pete Werner, who loves Disney but isn’t afraid to voice his pleasure and displeasure on certain topics.

3) WDW Prep To Go
If you have ever visited the WDW Prep School website, then you may be familiar with this podcast. There are new episodes usually once a week and it is hosted by Shannon Albert, who runs the website that the podcast accompanies. The episode topics vary every week, but include mostly Disney vacation planning tips and first-time trip reports. She does get to travel to Disney Parks frequently and always records a daily trip report for the podcast.
On a personal observation, her voice is quite pleasant to listen to. Not that it puts the listener to sleep, but it’s very soothing to me. And she’s very interested in helping her customers and subscribers to the website and podcast with planning their vacations to the Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line so you can hear the enthusiasm in her voice about that. My favorite tips she gives are those that involve the best places to stand, sit, or be during special events like dessert parties, fireworks, and shows.

4) The Unofficial Guide’s Disney Dish with Jim Hill
I haven’t been listening to this podcast as long as some of the others, but I really like it! Out of all of the Disney podcasts out there, this one seems to deliver the most direct information about the Walt Disney Company. The show is hosted by Len Testa, who is a co-writer for the “Unofficial Guide” travel books (hence the name of the podcast) and runs TouringPlans.com. He is almost always joined by Jim Hill, who I would refer to as Mr. Walt Disney Company Insider. I’m not sure exactly how he gets all of his information, but he seems to know some connected people that work with Disney, the Disney Theme Parks and he knows A LOT about what Disney is doing before anyone else does. He is also a writer and Disney historian and that knowledge lends a great deal to the show
They does episodes once a week and are typically those shows are packed full of information, and you can tell that both Jim and Len love discussing the latest happenings in the Disney parks.
