Staying at a Disney World resort has many great perks, besides the food, atmosphere, theming and other extras, one of the biggest perks people look forward to is, of course the pool. This is especially true if you are planning on visiting Disney during the hot and sweltering summer months when a nice dip in the pool is almost needed. So this brings up a really good question, what is the best Disney resort pool? Well if this is your question, you’ve come to the right place as we have ranked all the Disney World pools for your convenience.

At Walt Disney World, there is at least one pool located at every resort hotel. Most of them have 2 or more, since swimming is such a fun activity for guests staying at the resort. The second pool is usually smaller and deemed a “quiet” pool. And depending on which hotel you choose to stay at, the swimming pools can be very different. I have ranked the 8 best Disney resort pools on property based on size, aquatic activities, equipment add-ons, and general feel. So grab your suit, sunscreen, and towel, and head to these pools on your next Disney trip (no resort pool hopping)!

The Best Disney Pools Review

8) Beach Pool at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Recent changes made to the pools at Grand Floridian have made their distinctions a little confusing. The Beach Pool is apparently the resort’s feature pool, but it is actually as quiet as the newly popular Courtyard Pool. But quiet pools can be a very good thing! The Beach pool’s size is very impressive and the view of Seven Seas Lagoon is definitely something to experience! Kids will enjoy the water splash pad, waterfalls, bridge, 181 ft. water slide, and zero entry feature.

7) Luna Park Pool at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort

I debated putting this pool on my list for one reason: the giant clown slide. The Luna Park Pool boast a huge clown face for the facade of the exit to the water slide, basically looking as if the clown is spitting kids out of his mouth. The whole inspiration for the clown slide harkens back to Luna Park on Coney Island, which is why it feels like the area is from the turn-of-the-century circus era. The actual water slide itself mimics a tiny roller coaster, which I think is really neat, too.

6) The Lost City of Cibolo Pool at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

The theming of this pool and surrounding Dig Site areas really make this pool stand out. You’ll find a 123 ft. water slide, splash play area, arcade, sand volleyball court, kiddie pool, pool bar, and the largest hot tub on property. What I especially like about this pool is the 50 ft. pyramid that trickles water into the pool. The whole Mayan ruins motif is very appealing and well-themed. It draws in kids and adults like.

5) Samawati Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village

At first glance, it may not seem like the pool at Kidani Village is anything to write home about, but it definitely has its perks. There is a cool, 128 ft. waterslide that weaves between a big rock formation. There is also zero entry on one side, close to the poolside bar. But what makes it one of the best pools in the Uwanja Camp, a big splash pad area that has water guns, geysers that shoot up from the ground, climbing obstacles, and so much more. Definitely a big draw for families.

4) Silver Creek Springs Pool at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

I put the Silver Springs Pool this high on my list because of its sheer beauty. The water in the pool actually starts in the lobby and is fed through a stream and waterfalls into the pool. Since the feel of Wilderness Lodge is that of being in the natural elements, the theming of the surrounding geyser, rock formations, and pine trees display the outdoor feel well.

3) Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation

As the only Value Resort pool on this list, it also comes as one of the best. The Big Blue Pool is largest pool on Disney property. It’s also the most colorful! Going underwater is fun too, as Disney music is piped in through speakers! As far as decor goes, you’ll find larger than life sized Finding Nemo characters that give a nice theme. The Schoolyard Sprayground is a hit with the little ones as well. This is the only Value resort swimming pool that made this list.

2) Lava Pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

This feature pool at The Polynesian was recently renovated, changing from the “Volcano Pool” to Lava Pool. These changes are reflected in the theming of the 142 ft. water slide and the Kiki Tiki Splash Area next to the pool, which is great for the little ones. You can also find a hot tub, poolside bar, and walking bridge. With the renovation came more seating and lounging areas, and an expanded view of Seven Seas Lagoon.

1) Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club

So we come to the number one spot, the creme de la creme of Disney resort pools. Ask any Disney fanatic about what they think is the best one, and this one is sure to top the list. And for good reason too! The creativity and makes the sheer number of things to do at this pool makes it stand out from all the others. Guests enjoy the zero entry, sand at the bottom, lazy river, as well as the giant water slide and many bridges over the water. There’s plenty of room to lounge around, plus the poolside bar offers a variety of thirst quenchers. Sprawling over 3 acres, it’s almost like a water park within itself! This pool is so popular that non-guests of the Beach and Yacht Club are known to try and swim here. But Disney enforces a strict “guest only” policy, where you’ll be asked to show your magicband for entry. I recommend spending at least a half a day at this pool to be able to take all of it in.
